I’ve posted this before, but in light of my recent convo with Emmy, I thought I’d post it again! I know a lot of people want to draw Korra art in light of all the new news, so here’s some reference for you!

Korra has a unique bodytype, it’s more tall and muscular than any other girl in Avatar, or in any mainstream animated show, for that matter. That’s just one of the reasons I fell in love with her from the moment the first artwork was leaked- because she has a swimmer’s body, like me!  And so when I see fanart where people totally overlook her bodytype, it bothers me a bit. She ain’t no waif like Katara, Azula, Ty Lee, Toph… or any other Avatar girl. She is BUFF.

I probably tend to go all the way to the opposite side of the spectrum and draw her a bit more buff than she is in the show, but that’s mostly because I’m just really thrilled to have an excuse to draw muscular ladies, and have it actually be canon. XD
