My reactions in bullet points: (contains swearing and lots of FEELS)

• General Iroh continues to feel like a weird fandub because that voice doesn’t suit him AT ALL
• Asami commenting on the weird electric fence and then walking right into it, nice
• WHY DOES MAKO ALWAYS GO WITH KORRA GODDAMN WOULD IT KILL YOU TO HAVE HER INTERACT WITH ANYONE ELSE
• Oh my god Young!Amon looks SO HOT he’s like a male twin of Korra, this is confusing me, can they please make out
• Seriously out of all my crack ships I didn’t expect Korra/Korra to be the canon one
• I would have liked 10x more Asami spotlighting in this, given that her DAD is basically the real genius behind this military takeover, not Amon
• Seriously this episode would have been far better if Asami had been with Korra this whole time, not Mako.  Who is better to talk to about losing your bending than a non-bender?  We could have used some input from her on the whole situation, but no, she is nothing but a girlfriend to an asshole who doesn’t love her, she has no opinions
• MAKO DIE IN A FIRE SERIOUSLY HE NEVER EVEN BROKE UP WITH ASAMI WHAT THE ACTUAL FUUIJKJLK
• That whole “I LOST ALL MY BENDING” and then “NOW I HAVE IT BACK!!” was a little too sudden, not very climactic… although AVATAR STATE KORRA WAS AWESOME and it was followed up by a vomit-inducing love declaration for the show’s biggest asshole, why, why, why

So to recap:

Amon is awesome. I am shipping him with Korra now, I don’t know what’s going on

This episode needed about 20x more Asami and should have touched on how every man in her life treats her like utter shit.  

Mako should have apologized and I’m sick of the writers trying to make him out to be a Big Damn Hero, this is Korra’s show, not his.

Also, would be great if Bolin was given some seriousness instead of being a butt monkey all the time.
