Hi Yamino. Just curious, because it seems everytime you talk about your pets you get an ask about it - Why does everyone assume you are an irresponsible grown ass adult who can't take care of animals?

RE: The kitten, I decided not to take it. They didn’t want to offer me the calico, which was the most playful one. And although I still feel torn over not accepting the dilute tortie, I had a long think about it and decided that another pet shouldn’t be a spur of the moment decision. We have several already, and while one more cat wouldn’t be a huge imposition, I am too busy right now to spend time with it as it acclimated to a new place. They will be adopted quickly at our local shelter, kittens are always very popular there.

I’m still on the fence about cats as a pet for myself. Cats are low maintenance, which I like, but they also tend to be very aloof. I know some cats are extremely affectionate, but in my experience they are the exception to the norm. If I got a kitten and it turned out to be stand-offish I would regret adopting it, and I don’t want to gamble with a living creature.

I think my ideal pet is really a puppy, but I don’t have the time to train one now. I also haven’t really settled on what KIND of puppy I’d want, that’s another story. (Pugs, Dachshunds, Goldens, and Cocker Spaniels are all candidates, though.)

I tested Walmart’s brand of bottled water and I was shocked to see they sell the most toxic water ever. I tested for Total Dissolved Solids using a TDS meter and the number I got was 271. THAT IS THE MOST TOXIC WATER I HAVE EVER SEEN. Even NYC tap water TDS score is 39. Poland Spring is 42. The water is not even drinkable. I think it’s Criminal to even make profits from selling this water filled with sodium fluoride and who knows what else is in that. 500 ppm (parts per million) is the EPA Maximum but even though the FDA is corrupt their recommended is 000, which is pure.

THE ONLY BOTTLED WATER THAT READS 000 IS DUANEreade/Walgreens ‘NICE’ branded water.

The mice are always kept safe in my room behind two doors (my room door and my closet door) and our current cat can’t get at them.

As for Ash’s frogs, (when she gets them) the cats could TRY to get to them, but the tanks are too heavy for them to do anything but paw at the glass.

For people telling me to pick the kitten with the best personality, I’m not sure how much time I’ll have to actually interact with them before he has to run and take the rest to the shelter today. Also, they’re very tiny babies and don’t have much personality yet outside of “AHH! HIDE” so it’s kind of hard to gauge.

The only one I was able to play with was the dilute tortie, and she kept jumping out of my arms. However, this guy has been keeping the kittens outside and they’re not used to being held much. With proper handling I’m sure they’d get accustomed to human interaction.

Sometime today a neighbor is coming over with three 7-week old kittens: a calico, a dilute tortie, and a yellow tabby. (Photos are approximate, not actual photos of the cats.) He is going to give them to a shelter, but said I could have one if I wanted.

But I don’t know which kitten to pick! The first two are probably girls, and the yellow tabby is probably a boy.
