even though I don’t much care for Ivy I still love this episode and it’s one of my very very favorites

and I’m suddenly in lesbians with these two again

So rare to see villainess genuinely having a good time.

Don’t remember how many times I’ve watched that episode. Such a sweet moment<3

(Ivy’s cosplaying Kim Possible xD )

So I’ve just learned that apparently there was some sort of confirmation from Paul Dini out there that Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy were, in fact, intimate.

While this is a top contender for Least Surprising News Ever (I mean, shit, have you seen the official art of those two?), it is nonetheless awesome.

WOO, VINDICATION!

I can’t find the confirmation mentioned above, but now that I think of it, Harley and Ivy pretty definitely fall under the “so much subtext it’s canon” umbrella a la Storm and Yukio, don’t they? I’m embarrassed not to have added them to my list sooner!

Anyone who doesn’t think Harley/Ivy is canon must not be reading enough comics.  Or maybe they are the same people who would say that Utena/Anthy isn’t canon, even after they kiss 3 times in the movie.

I say if the creators ship it, IT’S CANON. Even Batgirl picked up on it.

I drew some super heroes making out for Comics Alliance’s series Great Comics that Never Happened!

http://www.comicsalliance.com/2011/05/23/slashpoint-flashpoint/

This was super fun on a few levels. On one, I just like drawing hot people in skin tight suits making out.

On Another level it’s sort of like something coming full circle.

People who’ve been following me for a long time (like 6 years ago) might remember when I got into some trouble by posting some hot super hero boys making out and being sexy on the Drawing Board forums.

Basically, the Drawing Board had a reputation for posting SCADS of sexy women laying on things. They actually had a whole section called GIRLS and obviously no section for boys which always made me feel like I was in a boys club, instead of a grown up forum of professional illustrators.

One day the founder, Shane Glines posted Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn making out and everyone went bananas about how amazing it was. Now, I am not against sexy ladies making out and they were nice drawings, but I thought to myself “I wonder if they would react the same way if I posted two male super heroes making out?” I figured they would probably say I was disrespecting the characters, a total double standard, and I was right!

I posted my drawings and got a huge negative reaction, sprinkled with bits of homophobic and anti-female gaze comments.

Eventually Shane Glines came in and calmed people down and my friends came to back me up as well.

At any rate, doing this illustration had me thinking about that. A lot has changed on the internet in 6 years. Women who are into Yaoi/hot dudes certainly have gotten a lot more visibility.

Anyway, it’s nice to be invited to draw something sexy for Comics Alliance, a comics blog run by an awesome lady instead of being booed out of the boy’s club :)

Awesome idea!  I love it, Jess. =D

Continuing from yesterday’s post I made about favorite character types, here is another category a lot of my favorite characters fall into: The eccentric.

Always the odd one out in a group, they live in a reality of their own.  Often labeled by the other characters as naive, crazy, or stupid, the eccentrics often actually have some innate wisdom that the other characters are completely missing out on. (Or perhaps they just have very wild imaginations.)

Usually played for comedy, although their backstory/current relationships often involve abuse either through bullying by peers or an abusive loved one. (Occasionally, they are the ones doing the bullying, although this is very rarely the case.)

Nearly always relegated to supporting characters.  Rarely get the full development they deserve.

+ 10 points if the main character rescues them from bullies and thus befriends them

+ 20 points if they rescue the main character from bullies

+ 50 points if they are a Perky Female Minion

+ 100 points if they HAVE Perky Female Minions

+200 points if they have have peculiar mental powers/perception

+300 points if they are acrobats

(I might add that these are the characters I relate to most. </3 )

These two.  The only reason I ever read a Batman comic.
