Speaking of shirts

Would anyone be interested in some “Friendship Time” shirts? I know most people who wanted one missed the chance before the company I was using took them down. (Despite that it’s a parody, and thus fair use.) If there’s enough interest, I could try to get these added to my online store. (And maybe bring some to London MCM Expo)

Every version I’ve tried in Photoshop looks pretty bad, from a graphic design perspective. The image just wasn’t made to be put on a shirt. D:

But if anyone wants to mess around with this image and show me a decent layout, I’ll see what I can do! I’m very busy with other deadlines now and don’t have time to work on shirts on top of it. ;_;

Would you ever consider making your "Pony tea" print into a shirt?

That would be fun, but it really wouldn’t fit well, since the image is too long and thin:

It could possibly work as individual ponies, but it kind of loses its rainbow spectrum charm- not to mention the cost of printing that many more shirts:

Gijinka - Chrysalis/Cadance Concepts

Let me just gush about `emlan. I love her humanized pony designs so much. She’s got a real knack for capturing the essence of a character in a completely different context (ie. translating a cartoon pony into very thoughtful fashion design.) She has a really good eye for detail, color, and original design based on the source character’s original influences. (In this case, an evil shapeshifting zombie/bug/snake pony.)

Here is my critique of her designs, which I hope she finds useful:

These are all really great, I love that you came up with so many very different concepts for the same character. They each have a unique feel and influence. (I particularly like the creepy suit in 3, it reminds me of Mortal Kombat for some reason.) Each one can be read as a different interpretation of her personality.

But my favorites are #9 and #11, mainly for the silhouette of the sleeves/boots on 9 and the armor on 11. I would like to see you work the sleeves (they aren’;t really sleeves, but I don’t know what to call them) to be draping off the suit of armor on 11, and colored more like her wings (rather than black.) I also really love that off-kilter hairpiece on 9, it would be cool to see that on the armor version.

The downside is that the armor on 11 covers her creepy skeletal body, so maybe she could have just ONE armored arm to show how her body is full of holes. (Zombielike?) Also, maybe look at some real bugs to see how their exoskeleton fits together, to make the armor look really bug-like. I’d also give her abdomen or chest area that sickly teal color she has in her original design. (I like how you were working it into the dress on 2, 7.)

Onto Cadence! My favorite wedding dress is #2, mostly because I’m not sure what’s going on in the first one (it looks like she’s showing a lot of skin on her chest! Is that material transparent?? But i’m sure that can’t be what you had in mind, it’s not very bride-like XD) I also really like her cute babysitter look on the last design to the right, and her scruffy “prisoner” look. Her more businesslike design looks a little too much like a lovechild of Celestia and Fluttershy to me. The other two have more individual personality to them.
