Add a small re-loader. Something that draws the string back and spins the barrel. Just like how a Hammer on a revolver works.
I don’t know what that looks like, and Google searches aren’t helping me much. D:
To everyone saying the design looks “unrealistic” or “impractical”…. This is for a comic about kung fu nuns and immaculate pregnancy and magic, I expect y’all can suspend your belief a little bit. Although if anyone is going to try to make functional cosplay props out of it, you have my permission to edit it accordingly. XD

He is ok? Where is he may I ask?
Yes, my brother’s fine! I realized in retrospect it sounded like he’d died or something.
He’s just finishing college on another continent and I miss getting to see him every day. I’m hoping he can move in with me in a year or two and we can have adventures and laughs again. =D

you were at the moneterey bay aquarium and didnt tell me?!?!? i live so flipping close to there!!
I didn’t actually take those reference photos in my previous post, but I have been to the Monterey Bay Aquarium several times (although this was back in the 90’s-early 2000’s, when I still lived in the Bay Area.) We made several trips because my little brother was really obsessed with marine animals.
I love Monterey, and the aquarium was always the highlight of our visits. I’d love to see it again someday. =)

The legs look a bit weird to me, like he wouldn’t be able to balance properly, maybe make them a smidge longer and a bit higher up? Iunno.

I’m honestly not sure how a creature with this anatomy would be capable of standing up, let alone walking.
Yeah, I really like the awkwardness of the stumpy legs though! And I don’t actually imagine him walking on his hind legs all the time, with this design I think he’d crawl too:
I think the short legs and crawling make him a lot more visually interesting.
queenkickass suggested giving him more legs (like
Randall Boggs from Monsters Inc.) but I think that would unnecessarily complicate the design and make him look more like a centipede than a salamander.

Will you be in the Tampa Bay area?
This is the only stop we’re taking on a road trip through Florida that day, after that we are heading straight up to Georgia, so it might be the only chance to catch me in Florida for a while.
If I come to Florida again, I’ll try to plan a meetup or two more in advance, but this was a very last-minute trip. =)

I dislike those types of euphemisms because they link gender and sexuality to genital configurations :/
I agree, but it just so happens all of us at the party tomorrow have fish tac- I mean, you know.
And it wasn’t really a euphemism, that was just me not knowing that fish tacos are actually a real food (??) and having a very unfortunate imagination.

have you considered adopting a ferret? they’re kind of like a mix between cats and mice/rats, and they’re really energetic and fun. plus, they’re bigger than rodents (and can usually defend themselves!)
I have thought about ferrets, and every time I’ve played with ferrets at other people’s houses, I really liked them. But they are stinky and I think they require a lot more care and attention than cats or rodents.
